2010 Acura MDX Overview

Introduction

The Acura MDX offers outstanding V6 power, standard seven-passenger seating and Acura's exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. Compelling styling, attention to detail, comprehensive safety equipment and advanced technologies increase the appeal of this luxury SUV.
The MDX is powered by a 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine, mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift manual mode and paddle shifters. A power moonroof, power tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio and HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) wireless connectivity are standard on every MDX. Three premium amenities packages are available: the Technology package adds a voice-activated navigation system and upgraded audio with USB port and 15 gigabytes of hard drive media storage; the Advance package includes the Technology package content, as well as a sport suspension with active damper system,


exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels, and ventilated front seats; and an Entertainment package boasts Acura's DVD Rear Entertainment system and heated rear seats. Standard safety-enhancing features include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, front and front side-impact airbags, overhead curtain airbags for all three rows, active front head restraints and rearview camera parking assist. The Technology package adds a multi-view rear camera, while the Advance package also includes a blind spot information system, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and a Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS).
The Acura MDX is redesigned for 2010, with exterior and interior styling refinements, a new six-speed automatic transmission, and an available upgraded audio system that features a USB port and 15 GB of dedicated media storage. Additionally, the previous model year Sport package has been renamed the Advance package, and now includes larger 19-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front seats and enhanced safety technologies.

The RDX boasts a 240-hp 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a five-speed automatic transmission with SportShift manual mode and paddle shifters, and is available with front-wheel drive or Acura's exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. Premium standard equipment includes a power moonroof,


18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats, satellite radio and automatic climate control. Key safety technologies for the RDX include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, front side-impact airbags, overhead curtain airbags and active front head restraints.
The Acura RDX is available with front-wheel drive for 2010.

As the flagship for the Acura Division, the Acura RL is one of the most sophisticated touring sedans on the road, blending smooth power and responsive handling with cutting-edge technologies and luxurious appointments.
The RL is powered by a 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine, paired to a five-speed automatic transmission with SportShift manual mode and paddle shifters. Acura's exclusive Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system enhances grip, stability and all-weather control, while an electric power assist steering system provides direct feedback. Every RL is outfitted with 18-inch alloy wheels, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights and a power moonroof; interior comforts include heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control,


satellite radio, HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) wireless connectivity, Bluetooth wireless audio streaming and a USB port. The available Technology package adds heated/ventilated front seats, an Active Front Lighting System (AFS), and a voice-activated navigation system with integrated rearview camera parking assist and real-time traffic and weather information. Additional available high-tech equipment includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and a Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, front side-impact airbags, overhead curtain airbags, active front head restraints and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Following an extensive redesign last year, the Acura RL carries over unchanged for 2010.
